The Discrete Notions Exhibition Series

The Room 26 Discrete Notions exhibition series features individual artworks and objects that observe, celebrate, critique, and document cultural phenomena. Beginning in the spring of 2004 and changing several times a year, the series includes made and found artworks, verbo-visual commentaries, cultural documents, and literary and artistic records. Discrete Notions is equally interested in aesthetic experience, intellectual engagement, and colorful commentary. A limited edition postcard series published by Phylum Press documents the Discrete Notions exhibitions. Discrete Notions is curated by Nancy Kuhl with the occasional collaboration of guest curators and artistic advisors; artists, guest curators, and advisors have included Kathleen Burns, Simon Cutts, Richard Deming, Kathryn Lynch, Emily Kopley, Allison McElroy, Jae Jennifer Rossman, Erica Van Horn, and Timothy G.
