Melissa Lenos
Melissa
Lenos is a third-year Ph.D. student in Temple University's Mass
Media and Communication program. Her current projects focus on
race and gender representation in film, genre history and the
cultural function of Hollywood remakes. She is also interested
in online community building and class studies. She has published
in Critical Quarterly online and has upcoming chapters
in two as-yet-untitled anthologies on film remakes and trash cinema.
Melissa teaches in the Film and Media Arts department, where
she recently designed a course on the history of American women
filmmakers. She lives in Mt. Airy with her partner, artist Corey
Antis and a very small cat.
